All India Institutes of Medical Sciences Mangalagiri has commenced its Academic Session 2018-19 from temporary campus at Government Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada. The temporary campus is expected to be operational for two years. Accordingly, for eight departments, new academic blocks have been constructed. The necessary faculty are appointed in full strength. One Lecture hall has been refurbished with modern amenities and state of the art equipment for a fulfilling class room experience.
The permanent campus is being constructed at Tadepalli-Atmakuru-Mangalagiri villages, Mangalagiri mandal, Guntur District, which is approximately 15 km away from temporary campus. The present First year MBBS course comprises of four disciplines - Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Community Medicine (Preventive and Social Medicine). Skill Genie programme of Higher Education Department of Andhra Pradesh is being adopted by AIIMS Mangalagiri for enabling the students to improve their soft skills. AIIMS Mangalagiri in Andhra Pradesh commenced academic session on August 30, 2018 with its first batch of 50 students under PMSSY.
